Yemeni Agate

Agate is mined in different parts of the world such as Iran, Iraq, Alaska, Brazil, Argentina and China. But the best quality of Aqeeq is extracted from the mines of Sanaa in Yemen and is a very thick, cohesive and porous stone, with a reddish-brown color that is the most popular color of Aqeeq.

GEODE AGATE

They are the thick, round, hollow or spherical stones in volcanic regions that are filled with small crystals and quartz. In fact, the creation of these beautiful little crystals dates back to millions of years ago. In a very lengthy process where water penetrates into the cavities of such igneous hollow rocks, water-soluble silicon and calcite materials penetrate into the rock and adhere to its walls. Their best sources are Egypt, Brazil, Uruguay and Scotland.

Banded Agate

It is the most common type seen with regular light and dark bands.

Moss Agate

In fact, this stone is not scientifically considered Agate because it is a kind of semi-transparent and colorless chalcedony. The presence of impurities in black, red or green crystals in them creates forms of plants. This mineral fills the gaps in the host rock or is found as rubble. The best Moss Agate is mined in India and is also available in China and the United States.

Fire Agate

It contains impurities of limonite and with proper cutting and polishing of the stone, a phenomenon similar to a flame can be seen inside the gem.

Condor Agate

This brightly colored type was first discovered by Luis de loss Santos in 1993 in the San Rafael region of Argentina and is popular among collectors due to its unique designs. When he saw a condor (a type of vulture) flying overhead during his discovery, he named the stone afterbath bird.

Agua Nueva Agate

It is mostly purple and pink and is found in the Agua Nueva region of Mexico.

Tubular Agate

This type has cavities and hollow parts inside.

Eye Agate

It has concentric circles with the inner circle being darker.

Botswana Agate

It has white, purple and brown parallel lines and is found mostly in Africa.

Brecciated Agate

It is made by joining broken pieces together using quartz paste.

Enhydro Agate

Inside the druse of this rock, some water remains from the initial liquids, which can be seen in thin cuts.

Cloud Agate

This stone has a gray color along with foggy and blurry spots.

Ellensburg Blue Agate

It is an almond-shaped Agate and a rare compound which could be found in Kittitas near Arnsberg, Washington. Its color varies from white to cornflower blue.

Holly Blue Agate

It is a blue-purple stone found near Holley in Oregon. This stone is one of the rarest types of Agate and because of its rich color, it has a high price and enjoys great popularity.

Purple Sage Agate

It is found only Eastern Oregon. Its color spectrum varies from light purple (the same color as lavender) to blackish purple, and sometimes black streaks or tree shapes appear in it.

Blue Lace Agate

The blue lace type has a complex structural pattern with light blue and white stripes. Most high quality rocks are mined in South Africa.

Lake Superior Agate

It is found in the Lake Superior region between Canada and the United States. This stone is rich in iron and is banded.

Crazy Lace Agates

It is a type of agate which is younger than its other families and was found about 60 to 70 years ago in the Mexican state of Chihuahua which is the only region where it would be found. Tangled designs with white, orange and brown colors are special features of this type.

Coyamito Agate

It is a type of agate, like crazy lace, found in northern Mexico and comes in band colors of pink, brown, yellow, orange and red.

Sagenite Agate

It contains needle-shaped inclusions that give it a special beauty.

Plume Agate

This type of relatively transparent agate, which is formed in the cracks of basalt rocks, contains beautiful yellow leaves in the blue background, similarly to the sea agates of Seh-Qal’a village of Khorasan. These leaves are actually inclusions or chemical impurities that have shown themselves in the form of beautiful leaves. This type is also found in the mountains east of Oregon, United States.

Iris Agate

This type of rare and relatively valuable rainbow Aqeeq is probably seldom seen. Iris Agate is normally seen in a milky color, but held in front of light it shows a special rainbow light phenomenon. This type of Agate has been seen in mines in Montana and Brazil.

Iris means rainbow in Greek and refers the color spectrum of the rainbow thatvis created by the decomposition of white light in this stone.

Scenic Agate

The presence of brown and red impurities creates images reminiscent of beautiful sceneries such as lakes, trees and so on within this type of Agate.

Dendritic Agate

This type of Aqeeq, similar to Moss Aqeeq, is not actually considered among Agate stones, but is a type of colorless or white-gray chalcedony whose pattern resembles the dark or black branches of trees due to the presence of iron or manganese oxide,. Its name actually comes from the Greek word Dendrite meaning “like a tree”. If the branches of the tree are orange, it could also be called autumn dendrite.
